Ryu Kosaka
Executive Creative Director of Creative Center, NOMURA Co., Ltd. and head of Aoyama Nomura Design (A.N.D.)

Born in Tokyo in 1960. After graduating from the Department of Architecture, Musashino Art University in 1984, Ryu Kosaka joined NOMURA Co., Ltd., and is currently Executive Creative Director of Creative Center and head of A.N.D. He is also Deputy Director of Japan Commercial Environmental Design Association and a part-time lecturer at the Department of Architecture, School of Engineering, the University of Tokyo. He has undertaken projects such as the Main Dining Room of Mandarin Oriental Tokyo, environmental design for the Shin-Marunouchi Building and the Sakura Lounge at Tokyo International Airport for JAL international flights. He was the first Japanese person to receive the Best Bar award at the prestigious Restaurant & Bar Design Awards 2014 in the U.K., and he won eight awards and nine titles for W Guangzhou FEI (Guangzhou, China). He is involved in the design of many high-profile restaurants, hotels and residential buildings throughout the world. Now, he is expanding the scope of his design activities from architecture to interiors.
